These reports cited a <a href=\"https:\/\/wikileaks.org\/plusd\/cables\/10BAKU127_a.html\">series of cables sent from the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan<\/a> in 2009 and 2010, which were made public by WikiLeaks. (The Trump Organization shared documents that showed an additional payment of two and a half million dollars, in 2012, but declined to disclose any other payments.)<\/span> Trump also had signed a contract to manage the hotel once it opened, for an undisclosed fee tied to the hotel\u2019s performance. The Washington Post published Garten\u2019s description of the deal, and reported that Donald Trump had \u201cinvested virtually no money in the project while selling the rights to use his name and holding the contract to manage the property.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/story-fbi-wiretap-russians-trump-tower\/story?id=46266198\">ABC News <time datetime=\"2017-03-21T07:40:00-05:00\">Mar 21, 2017, 7:40 AM ET<\/time><\/a>\u2014There, indeed, was an FBI wiretap involving Russians at Trump Tower.<br \/>\nBut it was not placed at the behest of Barack Obama, and the target was not the Trump campaign of 2016. For two years ending in 2013, the FBI had a court-approved warrant to eavesdrop on a sophisticated Russian organized crime money laundering network that <span style=\"background-color: lime;\">operated out of unit 63A in Trump Tower in New York<\/span>.<br \/>\nThe FBI investigation led to a federal grand jury indictment of more than 30 people, including one of the world\u2019s most notorious Russian mafia bosses, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alimzhan_Tokhtakhunov\">Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov<\/a>. Known as the \u201c[Wow-Modal-Windows id=1]<a id=\"wow-modal-id-1\" href=\"\u201dhttp:\/\/d-a-v-e.org\/washingtonnewstimes.com\/opinion\/#wow-modal-id-1\u2033\">Little Taiwanese<\/a>,\u201d he was the only target to slip away, and he remains a fugitive from American justice.<br \/>\nSeven months after the April 2013 indictment and after <a title=\"Details are only available to enforcement agencies or click on Little Taiwanese, above\" href=\"https:\/\/www.interpol.int\/notice\/search\/wanted\/1993-31998\">Interpol issued a red notice<\/a> for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/politics\/2016\/09\/trump-russian-mobster-tokhtakhounov-miss-universe-moscow\">Tokhtakhounov, he appeared near Donald Trump in the VIP section of the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow<\/a>. Trump had <span style=\"background-color: lime;\">sold the Russian rights for Miss Universe to a billionaire Russian shopping mall developer<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/sandiegofreepress.org\/2017\/04\/trump-has-deep-links-to-organized-crime\/\">San Diego Free Press <time datetime=\"2017-04-19\">April 4, 2017<\/time><\/a>\u2014David Bogatin: In the 1990s, the FBI considered Bogatin one of the key members of a major Russian organized crime family run by a legendary boss named Semion Mogilevich. According to the late investigative reporter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/magazine\/story\/2017\/01\/wayne-barrett-obituary-reporter-village-voice-trump-first-214669\">Wayne Barrett<\/a>, Bogatin owned five separate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-american-interest.com\/2016\/12\/19\/the-curious-world-of-donald-trumps-private-russian-connections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">condos<\/a> in Trump Tower that <span style=\"background-color: lime;\">Trump had reportedly personally sold to him<\/span>.<br \/>\nVyacheslav Ivankov, another Mogilevich lieutenant in the United States during the 1990s, also resided for a time at Trump Tower and reportedly had in his personal phone book the private telephone and fax numbers for the Trump Organization\u2019s office in that building.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2017\/feb\/27\/commerce-nominee-wilbur-ross-bank-of-cyprus-putin\">The Guardian <time datetime=\"2017-02-27T20:18:00-05:00\">Monday 27 February 2017 20.18&nbsp;EST<\/time><\/a>\u2014A lot of this Russian organized crime money flowed through Cyprus and one of its largest banks, the Bank of Cyprus. The bank\u2019s Vice-Chairman, Wilbur Ross, is now U.S. secretary of commerce. When senators considering Ross\u2019 nomination <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/340204494\/2-24-17-Letter-to-Wilbur-Ross-on-Russian-Ties-FINAL-SIGNED\">asked about Cyprus<\/a>, Ross said Trump had forbidden him from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2017\/feb\/27\/commerce-nominee-wilbur-ross-bank-of-cyprus-putin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">answering questions<\/a> on the subject.<br \/>\n\u2026<br \/>\nHearing for Wilbur Ross\u2014<time datetime=\"2017-03-02\">March 02, 2017<\/time><br \/>\n<strong>JAMES HENRY:<\/strong> A second partner was the potash tsar of Russia, worth about $8 billion, a guy named Rybolovlev. And <span style=\"background-color: cyan;\">Dmitry Rybolovlev<\/span> not only sold Donald Trump his house\u2014bought Donald Trump\u2019s house in 2008 for $95 million in Palm Beach, but he was also tagged as bird-dogging the president on the campaign trail, you know, intersecting with his landings in places like Charlotte, North Carolina, and Concord and Las Vegas, all over the campaign trail, and flying his Airbus 319 on these same routes. So, what was he up to?
