Solar Power design for boats and cars

100W Solar Panel
400W Connector

Harbor Freight's 100W Solar Panels can combine up to 400W with connector. Take the output from the connector and feed it into a Solar Charge Controller connected to a 100Ah AGM Deep Discharge battery and you have a Charge controller and 100Ah batteryfully-functional system that can be fed into an inverter to provide 120V power.Deep-cycle AGM Battery The battery type is important and if you are going for a lead/acid kind, due to cost, then make sure it is a Deep-cycle Sealed AGM Battery so that it can be discharged almost to zero and recharged continuously without damage. 12V 100AH Lithium BatteryAn alternative, but much more expensive, is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery which will be about 2.5 to 3 times the cost but will be much lighter (24 vs. 60 pounds) and faster charging. Also, make sure that your charge controller supports the LiFePO4 battery type.

Homemade 12V fused distribution panelFinally, you will also need an inverter Kriëger 1100W Inverterand a 12V distribution panel. Also, for safety, make sure everything is fastened down, well fused, and you have spares of all the fuse types.
